Important Information

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Communication- We hope to continue building a team within our community that stands
out with strong interpersonal skills. Due to the nature of our business, we need to hold a high
expectation especially for strong communication skills. Not only for staff purposes, but also for
our clients and families. Communication allows for collaboration between caregivers,
management, and clients. Interpersonal skills will help you through your professional life no
matter your goals.

Office Hours- The office is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm and closed on weekends. On-
call management is available outside of normal operating hours for emergency matters ONLY.

Please be conscientious when contacting the office outside of operating hours as we want to
keep emergency resources available to those who need it. *Please note, we will ONLY contact
you outside of operating hours for emergency matters as well.

Payroll
Please direct any payroll questions, concerns, or submissions for miles and
reimbursements to Danielle at dguhlke@cornerstonecaregiving.com with the subject line
“PAYROLL”.

• Submission for miles and reimbursements will need to be emailed by Monday prior to
11am for the previous work week for processing.
• Eligibility for mileage reimbursement only applies for over 20 miles driven OR if utilizing
your own vehicle for client needs during a shift. Mileage payout is capped at 200
            miles/weekly.
• Miles to/from client’s home will be paid for ONE way transit ONLY, at $0.65/mile.

* Please note, once miles are reported, they will be reviewed for accuracy. Miles will
ONLY be accepted for review for the current payroll week. If miles are NOT reported on time by
Monday, you will forfeit the opportunity for payout.

Clock Times In and Out- It is your responsibility to ensure you have correctly clocked in and
out for your shift. If you are having any trouble clocking in/out through the app you are
required to text the office immediately for management to clock you. If we do not receive this,
you will run the risk of not being paid for your shift and or face disciplinary action.

Vacation Time or Schedule Changes- You have the grace and flexibility to take time off and
choose your own schedule. It falls into your hands to communicate to the office when you need
certain days blocked off your schedule for vacation times or if you need to make any
adjustments to your schedule.

Call Offs- It is your responsibility to plan your shifts accordingly. You are required to give at least a 48-hour notice for any shift changes. We do understand that may not always be possible with personal emergencies. If you are calling off with less than 48 hours' notice, you will be required to provide documentation to excuse you. This can be in the form of doctor’s notes, incident reports, photos, etc. (We will accept many forms of documentation if it supports the nature of your call-off). If you call off a shift, you MUST receive confirmation that you have been removed from the shift appropriately.

Client concerns/updates- While we do audit care notes daily, it is important to notify
management of any concerning changes within a client. Including, but not limited to, mood and behavior changes, changes of care, refusals, reporting falls, incidents, etc. Documentation is a REQUIRED aspect of the caregiver position. Caregivers MUST document for EACH shift adequately. Remember, if it is not documented, it didn’t happen!

Emergency shift communication- We know it takes a special kind of dedication and effort to accept emergency shifts. You may have noticed messages directly to you or through the app regarding these shifts. Please know there is NO requirement to be picking up last minute or emergency shifts. However, in spirit of consideration, please respond to these messages regardless of your answer so we can continue to move forward.

Bonus/Incentives- We love to offer bonuses and incentives in many ways! Caregivers will receive a regular weekly bonus/incentive based on number of hours worked. Additionally, caregivers can receive bonus/incentives by performance and quality measures!
• 15-30 hours weekly receives $10-$15 bonus.
